Yes, we all know that Grouse Mountain is Vancouver’s natural playground, but did you know that there is more—much more—on offer than just skiing and snowboarding? The mountain hosts a fabulous line-up of events that provide some of the best fun that the snow has to offer. Here are three that simply should not be missed…

1. Grouse Mountain Pond Hockey Classic

Brace yourself for some serious speed and excitement from February 7 to 11 at the 8th Annual Grouse Mountain Pond Hockey Classic. The mountain’s 8,000-square-foot outdoor ice rink will see 14 teams of young hockey dynamos (aged 6-7 years old) from the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley going head-to-head in a friendly competition of the good ol' hockey game.

2. Valentine’s Day Gala

What could be more romantic this Valentine’s Day that dining at the Peak of Vancouver? Show your special someone a little affection with an exquisite five-course dinner. With its intimate alpine setting and drop-dead gorgeous views, dinner at the Peak of Vancouver will certainly put you in the mood for love!

3. Snowshoe Grind Mountain Run

The Snowshoe Grind Mountain Run is back for its 8th year on Sunday, February 25th. From the seasoned veteran to the first time snowshoer, all are welcome to participate. The course of the famous Snowshoe Grind is five kilometres long at 240 metres elevation.

Nestled in the foothills of the North Shore Mountains, the Holiday Inn North Vancouver is a great accommodation option if you’re heading up Grouse Mountain this season. Enjoy complimentary parking and Wi-Fi, have a dip in the heated indoor pool or hot tub, or sample an ice cold beer in Churchill’s Lounge or Seymour’s Pub.
