Question: What makes skiing and riding more fun at this time? Answer: Grouse Mountain’s Slush Cupon April 7. It’s simple. All you have to do is dress up in a ridiculous costume, strap on your skis or board and attempt to cross a pool of slush. And you can try this daring feat as many times as you like.

What could be more fun
that that?

There are some great prizes up for grabs, but the cheers from the crowd are the best prizes of all. Creativity is key here, because prizes are awarded for best costume, best trick, best crash and crowd favourite.

All of the action takes place on Peak Flats/the bottom of the Peak. If you are not on skis or a snowboard, you can access the Slush Cup by hopping on the Sleigh Ride, which leaves from the Skate Pond, or by walking along the Snowshoe Grind trail.

The Slush Cup takes place from1pm to4pm, and the beer and barbecue garden opens up at1pm. There will also be an after-party with live music from 4pm to 6pm, and an award ceremony at 4.15pm.

Finish off your day with some distinctly British Columbian cuisine at Altitudes Bistro, as you soak up the amazing views of the city some 3,700 feet below. The bistro’s Grouse Mountain Nachos are a particularly big hit. Altitudes is located on the upper floor of the Peak Chalet and tables are available on a first-come, first served basis.

The Holiday Inn North Vancouver is a great accommodation option if you’re going up Grouse Mountain to watch the craziness of the Slush Cup. This friendly hotel even has a heated indoor pool with a hot tub and dry sauna, so you can warm up after all of the Slush Cup fun.
