Get your dancing shoes ready: the biggest celebration of Caribbean culture in British Columbia is coming to North Vancouver’s Waterfront Park on July 28 and 29. It’s a weekend of tropical rhythm, cuisine, carnival and culture as only the Caribbean can offer. Here’s why you should be excited about the Caribbean Days Festival…

Because the North side of Waterfront Park becomes a Foodie Heaven

You can enjoy spicy Caribbean food and relax with an ice-cold drink in the hot sun in the large food concession area and beverage garden in the north side of the park.

Because there’s an Outdoor Music Festival in the South side of Waterfront Park

Colourful dancers and other performers entertain while bands play Reggae, Calypso and Latin to the large crowd.

Because the Kids will Love it

There is a Family Zone with face painting, activities and a children’s playground in the south side of the park.

Because you can Own the Streets

A large multicultural street parade is set to take place at 10am on Saturday, July 28. The streets of North Vancouver will be overflowing with costumed dancers and Caribbean culture. The Parade begins at Lonsdale and 13th and heads down Lonsdale to Esplanade before turning west to arrive at Waterfront Park.

Because it’s Free

Caribbean Days Festival is totally free to attend. It’s also open to all ages, wheelchair accessible and close to convenient public transportation.

Looking for the perfect place to rest your tired dancing feet after a day of dancing at the Caribbean Days Festival? Then take a look at the Holiday Inn North Vancouver, which is nestled in the foothills of the city’s glorious North Shore Mountains. Not only will you be able to immerge yourself in Caribbean culture, but you’ll also enjoy complimentary parking and Wi-Fi, the use of the heated indoor pool or hot tub, or an ice cold beer in Churchill’s Lounge or Seymour’s Pub.
