As the months get warmer, there’s tons to do in the city, check out some of the events to look forward to:

Talking Stick Festival

The Talking Stick festival runs this year from Feb. 19 to March 2 and is an annual festival that showcases Indigenous art and First Nation’s culture. This multi-day festival features everything from storytelling to dance, music, theatre, and much more from a wide range of Indigenous artists. Check out exclusive films, such as Sgaawaay K’uuna (Edge of the Knife) - a film in the Haida language and about the island of Haida Gwaii (off the coast of British Columbia) in the 1800’s, and staged readings, that provide a glimpse into another culture. There will be tons of events to pick from, so check the Talking Stick Festival 2019 website to help plan your festival experience.

Shred for the Cause on Mount Seymour

With International Women’s Day around the corner, it’s about time to highlight Mount Seymour’s Shred for the Cause event. Ladies get to night ski on Monday evenings for just $15 with half of the amount benefiting the Bloom Group, a Vancouver Downtown East Side social services charity. Men can ski too, but will have to pay the full ticket price. Shred for the Cause runs every Monday between Jan. 21 and March 25 from 5 to 10pm, so don’t miss your chance to donate to the cause before it’s up!

Spring Break Special Events

With Spring Break, or March Break, coming, lots of Vancouver’s best attractions will be hosting special events. Whether it’s the Vancouver Aquarium, Vancouver Art Gallery, Science World or Granville Island - each of these will have something fun to do during Vancouver’s Spring Break from March 18 to 22. Go to each of the attraction’s site to see what events will be available!

Whether you’re shredding for the cause or stacking up your schedule this spring break, Holiday Inn and Suites in North Vancouver is the perfect home base. We are located right at the foothills of Mount Seymour, allowing you to spend more time on the slopes, while also being 20 minutes away from the core of Vancouver.

As the months get warmer, Vancouver gets busier so book your stay early to avoid disappointment!
