From chocolate to pastries, pie to donuts and ice cream too, Vancouver’s North Shore has an array of local offerings sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. We’ve assembled a list of favourites that will light up your taste buds.
Thomas Haas
While the location of Thomas Haas’ North Vancouver shop is a bit out of the way (128-998 Harbourside Drive), it’s well worth the journey. As soon as you get in range, the smell of pastries and chocolate starts to hang in the air – pulling you in. At Thomas Haas, everything is good. Whether you’re after pastries, cake, chocolate or hot chocolate, each offering is made to a high standard and has a melt-in-your-mouth quality.
Tip:
the packaged hot chocolate is a great takeaway for gift giving or enjoying later.
Savary Island Pie Company
Between the variety of available flavours and the light, delicate pastry, Savary Island is
a locals favourite
– and has been for almost 30 years. Hand-made in-house daily, the servings are hearty and satisfying. Their Raspberry Blueberry or Raspberry Rhubarb pies are two of our favourites.
Temper
In the cute, quaint community of Dundarave is where you’ll find Temper. This small shop that specializes in European pastries, cakes and chocolates produces some dazzling creations. While well known for their chocolate work, the pastries (or Viennoiserie) are what keep us coming back.
Honey’s Donuts
When Kate Winslet posted that she loved Honey’s Donuts it took this small local establishment from cult following to mainstream favourite. Located in Deep Cove, you’ll have to be strategic about when you come to Honey’s. Parking in Deep Cove can be tight, but any inconvenience is well worth it when you take that first bite into a Honey’s Donut. Kate Winslet knows a good donut when she tastes one!
The Holiday in North Vancouver is a perfect base for culinary exploration. Providing
easy access
to all these sweet hotspots, and with complimentary parking, the Holiday Inn & Suites North Vancouver offers an array of incredible hotel amenities – on the doorstep of nature, on the stunning North Shore.
