The holiday season only comes once a year, don’t miss your chance to see Vancouver in a new light - with dazzling lights on bridges, mountains and trees that are the trademarks of any trip.

Peak of Christmas

Grouse Mountain transforms into Vancouver’s North Pole during the “Peak of Christmas” running from November 23 until January 6. There is an endless list of activities to explore, from strolling through the sweet Gingerbread Village to sliding down on a snow carpet! Walk along Blue Grouse Lake with the mountain as the backdrop to your winter wonderland adventure, skate under the stars, and stop by Santa’s Workshop for a visit. A special Peak of Christmas Family rate is available and you can buy mountain admission online.

Canyon Lights

The Capilano Suspension Bridge is an awe-inspiring sight on regular days, but it truly shines during the holidays. From November 22 to January 27, lights dazzle the trek across the Suspension Bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk and throughout the park. Canyon Light tickets are valid all day, so you can arrive early, enjoy the park, and watch the magic happen once the lights turn on at 4 pm. Visitors can also see the world’s tallest living Christmas tree and new for 2018, an interactive lighting display in the rainforest titled “Fireflies.” Visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge site for some tips to make the most of your trip!

Park and Tilford Hi-Light Festival

Only for the month of December, the annual Holiday Hi-Light Festival at Park and Tilford Gardens can be the highlight of your trip! 15,000 majestic lights appear endless as they cover 3 acres of the park. The lights are on between 5 pm to 9 pm daily and a perfect end to a day exploring Vancouver. Entry is by donation with 100% of the proceeds going to the North Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society. If you’re travelling with the family, mark down December 14 and 21! Every Friday evening during the month of December is dedicated to families with special guests - like a jolly man in a red suit. Even though Friday will be the busiest time, check out the 2018 Entertainment lineup before planning your trip!

All these events are located in North Vancouver, so don’t make the mistake of staying across the bridge! Stay within North Vancouver, close to all the holiday festivities, at Holiday Inn and Suites North Vancouver. Take advantage of our special packages - including a ‘Take the elevator home’ special rate for those staying between November 15 and December 24. There is also the Mount Seymour Snow Special so you can ski and stay close without worry.

Enjoy a magical holiday season and plan your stay in advance!
