We normally share events happening in Vancouver that our visitors can check out, but this month is different. As the world navigates the COVID-19 outbreak, we are all doing our part to limit its impact. Here are several hikes that you can bookmark for your next trip to British Columbia in the future. These evergreen views will be there for you a year from now and worth keeping in mind:
Joffre Lakes
If you have access to a car, or are renting one, then this is a must-have stop for your trip. Joffre Lakes is known for its crystal clear glacier waters and beautiful hiking views. There are three lakes along the hike, with your second lake being the largest. The glacier water will look beautiful but it is still melted ice so be wary of swimming because the water will be ice cold. According to Vancouver Trails, the best time to visit
Joffre Lakes
is anytime between June and September.
Quarry Rock
Deep Cove is always worth the trip - even if you’re only stopping by the well-known Honey’s Doughnuts for a tasty bite. Walk a short hike to see the views from Quarry Rock, or challenge yourself by taking the Baden Powell Trail from Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge all the way to Quarry Rock. Whatever your hiking preference, this is another not-to-miss addition for any trip to Vancouver. Bookmark
Quarry Rock
for your next trip.
Lindeman Lake
This short - yet challenging trail - will reveal the turquoise waters you can explore outside of Vancouver’s city limits. Lindeman Lake is located in Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park, an hour and a half east of Vancouver. This trail normally takes two hours to complete and is also camping friendly - perfect for a day trip out of the city. To learn more, check out the
trail’s profile on Vancouver Trails
.
In the meantime, for all the latest updates due to COVID-19, visit the
city of Vancouver’s official update page
for information on closures and cancellations that could affect you. Save these hikes for your next trip, whenever that may be. From everyone here at our
Holiday Inn and Suites North Vancouver
, we wish you and your loved ones the best during these difficult times.
