Save these hikes in Vancouver for warmer weather

Every month we share events happening in Vancouver that our visitors can check out, but this month is different. As the world navigates the COVID-19 outbreak, we are all doing our part to limit its impact.
Walking outside is a great way to practise social distancing and get in a daily dose of fresh air. Luckily, there are several hiking trails close to Vancouver that can help one do this:
Eagle Bluffs
The
Eagle Bluffs trail
at Cypress Provincial Park is an eight kilometre round trip that begins with a steep hill (though not on the same level as the Grouse Grind) and ends with a beautiful view of Vancouver. This hike is labelled as intermediate by Vancouver trails and usually takes most people four hours to complete. It is dog friendly, but not transit friendly, so it’s only accessible by car.
Dog Mountain
The Dog Mountain hike at Seymour Mountain also offers a spectacular view of Vancouver. It is much easier than the Eagle Bluff trail and most people complete the hike within 2 hours. However, you might have to
save this hike
for the summer months because Mount Seymour is closed indefinitely due to the recent events around COVID-19. Despite this, Dog Mountain is worth keeping in your back pocket for the next time you visit Vancouver.
Lynn Peak
According to Vancouver Trails, Lynn Peak is often compared to the Grouse Grind but it’s much less crowded. The trail is located within the Lynn Headwaters Regional Park and much like the Grouse Grind, the view at the top is worth the climb. It is a nine-kilometre round trip and normally takes people four hours to complete. It is dog-friendly (on-leash only) and public transit-friendly. Save
Lynn Peak
for warmer weather and try out this hike if you’re more of an intermediate hiker.
For all the latest updates due to COVID-19, visit the
city of Vancouver’s official update page
for information on closures and cancellations that could affect you. From everyone here at our
Holiday Inn North Vancouver
, we wish you and your loved ones the best during these difficult times.
