Looking for events to help get you in the holiday spirit? Check out some of the events happening in Vancouver below:

2019 Vancouver Christmas Market

This year skip the mall for a change of pace that pays homage to a centuries-old tradition. From November 20 to December 24, stroll through the Vancouver Christmas Market at Jack Poole Plaza (by the Olympic Cauldron). You will walk by more than 80 different huts offering handcrafted gifts perfect for everyone on your list. You'll be intoxicated by the delightful aromas of authentic German goodies including brewing coffee, fresh-baked pretzels, smoked turkey, waffles, bratwurst and much more. In addition, you can sip mulled wine and snack on roasted nuts all while listening to a live line-up of holiday entertainment. The Market makes for a perfect holiday photo opportunity, and word on the street is, Santa himself has been known to make an appearance. The Market is open daily from 11:30 to 9:30 pm and you can purchase your tickets in advance online.

Aurora Winter Festival in Vancouver

Be transported to a magical winter wonderland when you step into Hastings Park from Nov. 22 to Jan. 5, 2020. The park will be transformed into “Canada’s largest winter festival” with all the bright holiday decor of the season. Skate among scenery that resembles a real-life snow globe, go for a wild ride in the tube park and enjoy a relaxing stroll through the light displays. There’s so much to see and do. From sightseeing, enjoying a meal at the food gardens, hopping on winter-themed amusement park rides, to shopping at the Christmas market, this is the perfect place to spend a day with family, friends and loved ones. Reserve your tickets in advance!

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge 2019

A staple of Vancouver’s holiday celebrations - the Canyon Lights should not be missed. Head over to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and witness magic happening before your eyes. Every year thousands upon thousands of lights are strung up all around the park - on the suspension bridge itself, within 110-foot trees at the Treetops Adventure, along the Cliffwalk, the rainforest, and the canyon. Do not miss your chance to experience this magnificent lights spectacle from Nov. 22 until Jan. 6, 2020. Visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge site to get information about any special holiday activities such as gingerbread decorating.
