Celebrate the Year of the Rat by checking out some of these special events happening across Vancouver!
21st Annual Divers’ Weekend at the Vancouver Aquarium
On the weekend of January 25 to 26, celebrate the 21st anniversary of Divers’ Weekend at the Vancouver Aquarium from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. This event is for divers and non-divers who want to immerse themselves in the underwater world. Experience dive demonstrations, special exhibits, and informative presentations from a variety of visiting speakers. If you have a valid dive certification card, you can receive 50 percent off admission or 10 percent off an aquarium membership!
Vancouver Aquarium tickets can be purchased online
in advance.
Lunar New Year Annual Parade
Celebrate the Year of the Rat by joining in on any of the multitude of Lunar New Year events happening across Vancouver and Richmond! The annual Chinese New Year parade will take place on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 in Chinatown starting at 11 a.m. This event brings together all the traditions from martial art performances to lion dances and draws in 100,000 spectators each year. The parade starts at the Millennium Gate on Pender Street and a full

Coastal Lunar Lanterns
From Jan. 18 to Feb. 9, do not miss your chance to glance at the Coastal Lunar Lanterns around Jack Poole Plaza! This display is only around for two weeks so be sure to catch a glimpse during your stay and take photos! The lanterns are part of several special installations happening to celebrate the Lunar New Year. To see the full list of places, from Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza to Queen Elizabeth Theatre, that are hosting celebrations, visit

and book your stay!
